Houston Cummings is in his eighth year as Director of Bands at Rice High School in Altair, Texas. His responsibilities include coordination of all aspects of the Band program at Rice Consolidated Independent School District. His instructional duties at Rice High School include directing rehearsals for the Concert Band, Marching Band and assisting the junior high bands. Mr. Cummings graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans, Louisiana and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Instrumental Music Education from Louisiana Tech University. Mr. Cummings is currently pursuing his administration degree.
Mr. Cummings has taught for twenty-three years at every level of the public schools. Before coming to Rice Consolidated, he was Director of Bands at the following schools: Haughton High School (Haughton, LA.),
De Queen Public Schools (De Queen, AR.), Norphlet Public Schools (Norphlet, AR.), El Dorado Public Schools
(El Dorado, AR.), and Edna ISD (Edna, TX). Louisiana Tech University named Mr. Cummings the “Bandmaster of the Year” in 1996.
His professional affiliations include the Association of Texas Small School Bands, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Phi Beta Mu.
Mr. Cummings has been married to Lucinda for twenty-three years and they have three daughters. Manda recently graduated from Texas A&M and is teaching high school biology in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Catherine is in her third year at the University of North Texas and Brittney is attending Wharton County Junior College. Mrs. Cummings is the Color Guard Instructor for the Raider Band and also teaches seventh grade language arts at Rice Junior High School.

Danny Enriquez is in his second year as band director at Eagle Lake Intermediate School. He is also the first band director to take on the roll of Director of Junior High Bands. He directs all junior high ensembles including 8th grade band, 7th grade band and beginner 6th grade classes at the intermediate school. His responsibilities also include assisting with the high school band throughout the year. Mr. Enriquez graduated from Ball High School in Galveston, TX and received a Bachelor of General Music degree in Instrumental Studies from the University of North Texas in December of 2007.
Before teaching at Rice CISD, Mr. Enriquez taught a semester at Crystal City ISD in Crystal City, TX.
Mr. Enriquez is a member of Association of Texas Small School Bands, Texas Music Educators Association, Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society and Phi Mu Alpha.

Mrs. Lucinda Cummings has been the Color Guard Instructor for Rice High School for the past seven
years. Her responsibilities include coordination of all aspects of the color guard. She has taught color guard for twenty-three years and has taught color guard camps in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Her color guard was named the Best 2A Color Guard at the Blinn College Marching Contest in 2006, 2007, and 2008.
Mrs. Cummings graduated from Crossett High School in Crossett, Arkansas, attended Louisiana Tech University (where she met Mr. Cummings), and received her bachelors degree from the University of Houston - Victoria. She is a seventh grade language arts teacher at Rice Junior High School.
